Ever had that feeling?

Ever had that feeling when having read a line scrawled on your classroom desk you feel that it represents something very significant but you haven't a clue what. You stand revering, mystified at the power of the words, wishing you could comprehend the meaning. Maybe this is the 42 of all your doubts, fears and miseries but you have no path to tread. You don't even know the direction where you might find a trail. The words burn deep into the crevices of your prefrontal cortex while you reel in confusion and exasperation. A fervent breathlessness grips you as you ponder the futility of your sorry life. For a whole minute you marvel at the brain that had mastered the truth and left this trinket engraved on the desk in such a matter of fact way so that the posterity is guided to the truth. But then the possibility dawns on you that maybe it has been left there to torment a poor uninitiated soul such as you. It's a jab at your dignity. Oh how might he be smiling smug to see someone was craving, crawling, falling on those words. The smile transforms into a smirk and then the mocking laughter rings in your ears, disgusts you. Makes you feel like running to a dark dark corner and ending it all.
Haven't you had that feeling? No? Okay .. neither have I.

Iron & Wine : Naked as we came

She says "wake up, it's no use pretending"
I'll keep stealing, breathing her.
Birds are leaving over autumn's ending
One of us will die inside these arms
Eyes wide open, naked as we came
One will spread our ashes 'round the yard

She says "If I leave before you, darling
Don't you waste me in the ground"
I lay smiling like our sleeping children
One of us will die inside these arms
Eyes wide open, naked as we came
One will spread our ashes round the yard

Haunting melodious song. Beautifully done.
